![]() In fact, after I finish writing this I’m going to pop downstairs and have lunch. I’ve been making it for months and haven’t gotten sick of it yet! Soy sauce would work, or fish sauce (I’d use ¼ of the recommended amount, though). One nice thing about this recipe is that it’s very forgiving and easily tweaked. More garlic, as always, because you know I’m a garlic psychopath. I made it spicier and swapped in liquid aminos for fish sauce because fish sauce is just not my jam. Nutritional yeast and miso are cornerstones of the vegan cheese sauce that I make, so I knew they would do the trick in this dressing. ![]() We give the Alpine Archery Soft Loc quiver a 9 out of 10 star rating. From the quality of its build to its excellent design, it will surely stay on our bows until it’s discontinued. The boys over at Alpine Archery hit a homerun with this quiver. This wide variety of options ensures that no matter what bow your are shooting or what you are hunting, you should be able to find a combination that is right for you. The current available camo patterns are Mathews Lost, Mathews Lost AT, Mossy Oak Infinity, Realtree APG HD, Realtree Xtra, Skulz, and black. Archers can choose between a 3, 5, and 7 arrow quiver as well as a variety of camo patterns. The Soft Loc Quiver comes with many options. Premature deployment of blades in this manner will wear out a mechanical broadhead’s locking mechanism (o-ring, clips, collar, bands, springs, etc.) and can lead to premature blade deployment while an arrow is in flight. This is due to the insertion of the broadhead into the foam, which of course, simulates the same action which deploys the blades when an animal is shot. When mechanical broadheads are only held in place by one grabber and a piece of foam, it is a recipe for disaster. When the arrows are grabbed in two spots, you can remove the foam inside the quiver’s head to allow your mechanical broadheads to be protected by the quiver’s head but not rammed into a piece of foam. ![]() If you intend on shooting mechanical broadheads, having a quiver that grabs the arrows in two spots is essential. The design of the Soft Loc Quiver was ahead of its time when it was introduced into the marketplace. I don’t quite know what to think of this, but they assure me its going to be even more of an improvement. When the quiver is detached from the bow, the rubber mount absorbs noise causing vibration, aiding in achieving a quiet stealthy shot.Īfter talking to a couple of representatives from Alpine Archery, I discovered that this system is going to be replaced by a similar system used in their Power Loc quiver. The Soft Loc Quiver’s frame locks into the soft rubber with a little pressure resulting in quiet attachment and detachment to and from the bow. The mounting system of the Soft Loc Quiver is made of soft, noise dampening rubber and mounts to a compound bow via two allen screws. If you prefer flexibility in your quiver setup, Alpine also offers the Bear Claw, a 12-inch-long model that comes in 3- and 5-arrow versions and can be adjusted vertically for better bow fit, balance and comfort. The mounting system of the Soft Loc Quiver The rubber mount also serves as a dampener to reduce noise and vibration between the riser, mounting bracket and quiver. The Power Loc’s rubber mount and stainless-steel lock pin make it incredibly easy to secure the quiver in its bracket and/or remove it from the bow, while the loop on the hood really comes in handy for hanging the quiver on a hook or tree branch. When I’m in the stand, I like to remove the quiver from my bow. My Muzzy Trocar fixed blades slid quickly and easily into the precut slots, with the foam engulfing the entire broadhead. What I really love about this quiver, however, is the deep, urethane foam-lined hood that protects both your broadheads and you. Well, the Power Loc’s two-stage arrow gripper is a gem, holding both standard and micro- diameter arrow shafts firmly in place. ![]() Over the years, I’ve had a quiver or two where if you got caught on a branch while you were walking, or when raising or lowering the bow in your treestand, the arrows would easily pop out. At only 6.3 ounces in weight and 11 5⁄8 inches long, the Power Loc is also light and compact. The company’s top-of-the-line model is the 4-arrow Power Loc, which comes with several features that make it a stellar choice if you’re in the market for a new arrow holder.įor starters, the Power Loc is easy to affix to your bow - Alpine even offers short videos on its website that cover how to install its quivers. The company was purchased by Kinsey’s Archery in 2020, with the quiver line undergoing a transformation to fit the evolving interests and needs of the modern hunter. The Soft Loc from Alpine has become one of the most popular quivers in the archery market today because of the unique soft rubber mounting system which. Launched in the late 1980s, Alpine has a rich history of developing dependable archery products. One line that has stood the test of time - hitting the sweet spot where quality and affordability meet - are the quivers made by Alpine Archery. Like all archery products, quivers come in various styles and sizes, with a variety of features depending on the model and how much you’re willing to spend. We may not give it as much thought as our sight, arrow rest or release aid, but the quiver is an essential bowhunting accessory, holding our arrows securely in place while serving an important safety function by keeping razor-sharp broadheads concealed to prevent injury in the event of a stumble, fall or other mishap afield. |
